"Diamond" Don Rainey is in
a
league of his own. He's been racing motocross since
before time. During his many travels over the past
four decades, Diamond has had many opportunities to meet
several famous and very cool people within the motorcycle
industry, giving Diamond the charisma and charm that makes
Diamond the gem that he is today.
In October of 2004,
Diamond turned 60 and hit the track with his heart set
on competing the 60+ expert class. This same year,
he was honored by AHRMA for his contributions to vintage
motocross by given the
Mike Lightfoot Trophy
during the organizations annual awards banquet.
With the entire 2005
season in his site as a 60+er, Diamond set out to do his
best,
placing 5th
in the country overall against some of the legends of
motocross to include the imfamous Bill Silverthorn. To this
day, you'll find Diamond Don traveling around the
country all year long racing and promoting his event.
When Diamond's not on the
track racing, he's on his tractor perfecting his own
race track. Every year on April Fools weekend,
Diamond and his lovely wife, Francene, put on one of the
biggest and exciting vintage motocross national of the year.
The Diamond Don Riverport Vintage National has been
running strong since the turn of the millennium.
